Hello everyone,

I have just finished making my first video about tech-enhanced teaching.

This program was a extremely easy to use to create simple but visually appealing videos that incorporate background music as well as voice audio. This would be a fantastic to for a digital story telling. I may look into using this as a lesson one day in the near future, but first I need to become an expert with the website before I can feel comfortable using it with my students. Thank you for taking the time to check out my video, I quite enjoy learning about all this new technology!

As always,

Miss Witt

Hello again!

Parents here is a fantastic math game that will have your boys begging you to play! Girls also love it too! Little do they know they are practicing their math skills, specifically addition, greater than, less than and equal to numbers. The game is called Math Journey. In this game your child will go through a series of obstacles where they will have to solve math problems to get through the obstacles. They have 3 answers to choose from and if they get it right the character will move on to the next obstacle until he reaches the castle. Once the character reaches the castle your child will have an option to pick a treasure chest reward!

Students! This game is so much fun. It is called Math Journey and it helps you practice your alligator math (greater than, less than, and equal to). Your character will have to get through some tricky obstacles and you have to help him. You have to answer math problems to get through the obstacle and move on to the next one! You know you have reached the end when you are at the castle. Once you are here you get to pick a reward chest for your prize!

Have fun!

Miss. Witt

Welcome back!

Parents! This game: Kitten Hop is a fantastic game to help your child with word recognition, spelling, and reading! It will enhance your child's ability to read fluently, read high frequent words, read unfamiliar words by predicting, and increase the rate at which your child reads. The object of the game is to be the first one to get to the finish line by accurately clicking on the right word that is said. If your child clicks on the wrong word they have to try again until they get it right to move onto the next set of words! Its pretty fast pace so your child may need to play it a few times to get the hang of it.

Students! I have found this super fun game that helps you practice your reading! It is called: Kitten Hop. In this game you have to listen to the word that is said and find the word in the line of kitten balls. You race against other kids so you have to be quick! Don`t worry if you don`t win the first time. Keep practicing and you will get there!

Hello again!

In our class we use lots of educational websites, you may have heard your child talking about them. If you would like to use these websites at home I will post the links below! Being involved with your child's learning is essential for their success. This is a great way to read with your child if you don't have access to a variety of books at home.

Hope you love these sites as much as I do!

Tumble Books is great for finding a variety books including one of my most favourite authors Robert Munch, were it has an audio attached so you can choose to read it yourself or listen to it being read!

National Geographic for Kids is a great research website. It may be helpful if your child has a research report!

Fun Brain is a website that makes learning fun, explore all the features it has to offer from books, to math games!

Resource Post

Hello again Parents and Guardians!

I came across this fantastic website that allows you to be involved with what your child is learning this year in Grade One!

The Website is called: Elementary Internet Tools

You can access it by clicking on this link below:
Elementary Internet Tools

Once you click on the link you can explore the website on your own, or click specifically Grade One which will then redirect you to every subject that will be covered this year. You can then follow the different links within the different subjects to review what your child is working on in class. This is a great way to be involved with your child's learning!

You and your child can work through the reviews to ensure your child has grasped what he or she has learned in class that day or week. It is simple to use and only requires a few minutes of your day!
